Day 66 - Light Trails

Another casual morning here in China, as I wasn’t too motivated to get out of bed if it wasn’t for the sake of coffee. As I headed to the gym this morning, Williamo was also leaving the hotel and we had a nice conversation walking over to the gym. Brad & Deni were already inside from doing their morning workout. Since we had that practice test yesterday, today we had a slightly better idea on what to focus on. Did that for the majority of the practice, and followed it all up with another miniature round of tests. One more day of practice & then the kids will be off to Shanxi.

Today was actually a very gorgeous day. Super sunny out & bluebird the entire day. When gym time rolled around though, no one was in the mood for photos. I tried to snap a couple here and there but it wasn’t really happening. At dinner, realizing I still had a bunch to take. But I was getting sick of just doing photos that documented my day. I wanted to take something with a little more creative technical learning to it. Walked to the front gate & started messing around with an idea of long exposures with still objects. After a few tries I was able to figure out how to get a focused shot and still get motion right before the shutter closed. Really fun to mess around with, and wanting to start doing more stuff like this to make night shots a bit more unique.

While I was taking these photos, Deni came by the front gate. He was about to head off to the Mall and asked if I wanted to join. When we arrived in front of the mall was a little Basketball Tournament happening. Reminded me of Hoopfest. Would be crazy to see how big that tournament would be if it was here in Beijing.
